Airset ( Pepset )

The Airset Process uses a blend of dry sand mixed with a two-part resin, hand packed into a “corebox” to form a sand core. Core boxes are typically made of some type of metal, urethane or wood.  When the sand mix is exposed to air there is a certain period of time until the sand will harden.  This time period is controlled by the amount of catalyst added to the sand mix.  It is important to pack the sand tightly in the box and strike the top off before the sand becomes hard.  If this is not done, you will end up with “spongy” or undefined areas on the core.

Airset gives us the ability to make small cores all the way up to very large molds.

Supreme Cores, Inc. has a total of two Airset mixing machines. Please refer to our machine list for a listing of the various Airset machines. We offer a variety of different Airset sands mixes which are available depending on the type of metal you are pouring or the application of the core. Please see a listing of the types of sands available for use.
